William Faulkner was born on September 25, 1897 in New Albany, Mississippi, U.S.A. and died on July 6, 1962 in Byhalia, Mississippi. His most notable works include, The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, Absalom, Absalom! In 1949 he was awarded a Nobel Prize in Literature. He also received the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Price for Fiction.
