Honoré de balzac

Honoré de Balzac was born on May 20th, 1799 and died on August 18th, 1850. He is best known for his magnum opus, La Comédie humaine. He is considered one of the exponents of realism in European literature and is admired for his piercing eye and keen perception of life throughout different stations of French society.

We will be reading «The Red Inn», a short story taken from La Comédie Humaine. It is more than a social critique, it is a look into the human condition under adverse circumstances.

We will meet do discuss Balzac’s short story on Thursday, May 12th at 7:30 pm at La Biela in Plaza Francia, Recoleta.
